Hello everyone! So in this week's Fictional Crush Friday, I'm gonna talk about probably one of the famous characters in movie history, well his older self was. He's also my first space crush (I know it's weird, I know). You've read the title anyway, this week's Fictional Crush Friday, is Anakin Skywalker
(Look at that intimidating yet sexy gaze)
Btw, I will talk about the movie Anakin, not the Clone Wars Anakin, simply because I haven't seen a single episode of the show. And I know, people think that the portrayal of him in the show, was better than the movies, and I would talk about him, if I have watched the show, but we're just gonna stick with the Anakin that I know.
Anakin Skywalker, he was probably one of the most powerful Jedi/Force user in the Star Wars realm. He was also a really good pilot, like spinning is still a good trick, even his emo grandson still does it.
But with all those great and wonderful things about him, of course he had some flaws in him. The most notable one was, He thinks too much, he was afraid of anything bad happening to his loved ones. Which I think it made him human.
He lived with his mother before all the Jedi training, and when he left to be trained as a Jedi, he constantly worried over his mother, he's afraid that his mother is in danger. And his biggest fear came true in Episode II (which is by the way my least favorite Star Wars movie. I don't like Anakin there), she was kidnapped and tortured by the Tusken Raiders until she was dead. And, that brings us to probably the first time we saw the dark side in Anakin.
(This is what the author did to my favorite fictional characters. Also, calm down with the screaming, boy)
But one of my favorite moments in Episode II, was the love story of Anakin and Padme. She was his first love and he still thought about her for 10 years (which is kinda creepy when you think about it). Their relationship evolved in Episode II with the classic "i'm-about-to-die" kiss. Since the Jedi code forbid attachments, they had to continue their relationship in secret.
Remember when I told you that Anakin was afraid of anything bad happening to his loved ones? Well, it happened again in Episode III (my favorite, my baby). Padme told Anakin that she was pregnant. Ofc he was happy, right? But his fear won over his happiness. He got recurring dreams of her dying in childbirth. And Anakin will do anything to stop that, including slowly joining the dark side.
But alas, this effort backfired and Padme was killed by him, indirectly. And he became the Darth Vader that we know today courtesy the best sword fight in Star Wars on Mustafar. It was so good. Hayden Christensen did a really good job being Dark Anakin. And I'll share the link of the duel to honor that beautiful cinematic masterpiece.
Like, I know it's long, but it's worth it.
Imagine how cute their family would be had Anakin didn't go full Vader. Anakin would tell how beautiful Padme is everyday.
And imagine how great of a father he would be to Luke and Leia. How big of a daddy's girl Leia would be. How Anakin and Luke would bond over flying ships. It's still one of my favorite "what if" moment.
Now with Episode IX is filming, I just hope that JJ Abrams would bring Anakin back as a force ghost and knock some senses over Kylo's head.
