2025 : A Review

Hello, everyone! It's time for another year review. I honestly can not believe how fast this year has gone by but I've done and achieved a lot of things this year. This year was a good one.

Academic Life : 10/10

I FINISHED POSTGRAD! Finally, after a year of master's thesis writing and a little less than two years of doing master's degree. I'm proud of my thesis and how I finished it while showing my niche and specialties in law that I finally found now. Not only that, I was also the valedictorian (minus the speech) of that period of graduation in my study program. It was still unbelievable how I managed to do that but now I'm just gonna pat myself in the back and tell myself I did a great job.

Work : 9/10

I got another "job" this year. The reason I put the quotations there was because it's not official and I do it by project but I still got paid. The "job" is being my professor's research assistant and I enjoy it so much. It started with me setting up his ResearchGate and Academia account by basically doing inventory of my professor's Scopus indexed papers, then it evolved into networking with other researchers from other countries for opportunities in collaborating for academic papers in the future. And lately, I've been making research proposals, research papers, community service based papers, and I was swamped with work the whole month of December but it's something that I enjoy doing and I hope that I can do this kind of work more in the future. Also update from my freelance remote job, I got some money to finally be able to buy a tablet by my own money, that's a huge achievement for me.

Family : 8/10

This year was quite a good one for relationship dynamic with my parents and my family in general. Also, there is a new addition to the family this year, I have a baby nephew and I'm an auntie now! It's just all very exciting to see what he's able to do each day and all the cute shenanigans he's up to everyday. I hope that I can be a good auntie for him.

Friends : 5/10

I lost a friend who was very close to me in college. I'm so sorry that I didn't find out or try to look for updates on her earlier, but I just hope that she's no longer in pain and I'm gonna watch and enjoy the things we both enjoyed in the past as a way for me to remember her in a good light.

Physical Health : 6/10

I got flu for 2 months straight and I hated it so much because it ruined my plans of holiday abroad due to the fever that I was having there that forced me to stay in the apartment I was staying. And now as I'm writing this, I feel like my throat is drying up again, fuck.

Mental Health : 7.5/10

My mental health is much better this year. Sure, it did get stressful at some points because of a lot of things. And I felt a little bit of an impostor syndrome due to all of the achievements that I got this year. Did I actually do all that? Or was it just because I had a lot of help this year? But I managed to push that feeling aside for now and being swamped with work is actually a good thing because I can forget it for now but I know I need to face it later, it's not good to just keep it on the backburner. Also I found new interests that make me happy this year. I realized that I like to go to photobooth and made memories with my loved ones to look at in the future. The second one was sticker collecting, I just recently started collecting stickers and I prefer the ones in vintage style. But overall, my mental health was better this year compared to last year. I don't want to jinx it, I want to keep it going.

Fangirl Life : 9/10

If last year was the year of obsession coming back, this year was the year of new obsessions. I got into F1 this year, finally, I know. I've always thought of F1 as something that I will lose myself to if I got into it, and I was right. F1 was always on my radar but I just got into it this year because my friend just thought that I would be good romantically with Oscar Piastri (I know, I do this a lot with my friends actually) then I looked him up on Tiktok and 2 hours later, I became obsessed with F1, particularly this Australian F1 driver named, well, Oscar Piastri. Although he didn't win this year, but he managed to lead the championship standing for I wanna say almost 8 months? And brought the fight to the very last round of the season only in his third year in the sport. I hope that he'll win multiple world champion title in the future, it's written in the stars for him. Other than F1, I had a hyperfixation with Bollywood movies, especially the ones that were released in late 90s and early 2000s. I watched so many of them after I did my master's thesis defense. I got so into the storylines, the soundtracks. Even three of my top 5 in my 2025 Spotify wrapped were Bollywood songs and you can actually check what are the ones that I like so far on my Top 5 Bollywood Movie post. Now, by the end of the year, I fell in love again with Seventeen, the Kpop group after watching their travel variety show with Na PD, Nana Tour. They're also one of the groups that both my friend who passed this year and I enjoyed together in the past so it was a bit painful at times but they also reminded me of the good times that I had with my friend. So I really enjoyed all of my hyperfixations this year, both new and older one that came back.

So overall score for this year is 7.8. It was much better than last year and I felt that too. 2025 was the best year for me in a while and I hope that 2026 will be an even better year for me and for you who currently reads this post! I'll see you in the next post and next year!

Fictional Crush Friday : Michael Moscovitz Pt. 2 (Post Japan Michael)

Hello! I'm gonna continue my last week's fictional crush friday with Post Japan Michael Moscovitz. I would describe Post Japan Michael as "I-don't-think-I-can't-love-you-more-yet-you-prove-me-wrong", and you'll see why. So, last week, we were left with the fact that Michael was heartbroken and left for Japan. Now, I don't know if it were the fact that Mia was dating a first class asshole or the japanese air but he's changed, and it was a good change. After a couple years, Michael went back to US and became this young and successful alumni of his high school, so ofc Mia had to interview him and all. Let me tell you, that wasn't an interview at all. It was more like a coffee shop date because Michael was constantly flirting with Mia. And it was such cute events. They went out again on a date, and he rented a freaking horse carriage and they made out. Fast forward to Prom Night, Mia broke up with her famewhore boyfriend (After two long ...

Fictional Crush Friday : Steve Harrington

Hello, everyone! I'm back with another Fictional Crush Friday. Today, we're gonna talk about a character with one of the best character development, with amazing, beautiful hair. Ladies & Gentlemen, we give you, the best mother in Hawkins, Indiana, Steve Harrington. (what if i already have tho) So, season 1 Steve, he was an asshole, if I can put it in an easy way. He was one of your typical jock who treated almost everyone, except his friends, badly. Everyone gave him a nickname "King Steve", that's how typical of an asshole high school jock he was (tbh I forgot that he had this nickname until I opened the wikia page for Stranger Things). At the beginning of the series, he was dating Nancy Wheeler, Mike's sister. Now, when I say that Steve really loves her, he does. No matter how much of an asshole he was, he loves her. Their relationship started as something that's very sweet and all. They kissed in between periods, he would sneak ...

Favorite Spooky Movies

Hello everyone! In this spooky season of halloween, I'm gonna talk about my favorite spooky/scary movies. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm not the biggest fan scary stuffs. I don't really like movies with actual ghosts in it, I prefer movies that fuck with your mind and make you question your existence. That's my type of scary movies, and you'll see in a moment that most of the movies here have that element in them. So without further a do, let's just jump right in! DISCLAIMER : There will be some spoilers for the movies that are mentioned here Carrie Carrie is a movie based on Stephen King's novel with the same title. It tells a story of a girl named Carrie who faces the bullying from her classmates at school and abuse from her fanatically pious mother at home, then she also discovers that she has telekinesis power. When she thinks everything is starting to get better because the most famous guy in school asks he to prom, it's ...
